Set in Indiana: Close to Home

According to Entertainment Weekly's Fall TV Preview, one of this fall's new crime investigatiows, "Close to Home" on CBS will be set in Indiana:
A new (Jennifer Finnigan) tries to balance breast pumping with prosecuting rapists and killers in... suburban Indiana?
I'm not sure what's up with that incredulous-sounding question mark. Apparently we don't have crime in Indiana, according to Entertainment Weekly? Or maybe we just don't have exciting crime here.
They further explain that the show is another Jerry Bruckheimer crime show, but not a "procedural" show like CSI; they will explore the character's personal life as well. Which is okay, because Jennifer Finnigan is pretty hot.
I'll be curious to see what the "suburban Indiana" setting is like. I'm guessing non-descript, non-recognizable and maybe even anonymous, which is too bad, because it would be pretty funny if Fishers or Carmel showed up on television. It would be even funnier of they made snarky comments about Fishers or Carmel like we do. Maybe I should write them about the comedic possibilities of commentary on the Carmel Arts District.
The show debuts Tuesday, October 4th at 10 p.m. on CBS and is part of their Tuesday lineup. Because it's on right after the Amazing Race, it probably stands a decent chance of being watched, although it's up against Law & Order SVU.

I grabbed a screen shot from the preview on the CBS site that shows the neighborhood in relation to downtown. I know this is all pretend, but... it seems like the neighborhood is within 465. It looks too close to downtown to be a Fishers or Carmel suburb. Anyone with a good eye able to pinpoint where the neighborhood in this shot is located?

Wow; that does seem to be inside 465, like somewhere south of 86th and Ditch? It looks slightly northwest. Hmm. That reinforces the Star's point that the show's Indianapolis locale isn't "suburban" but is actually urban.

No SUVs in the pic, so it can't be Carmel.

to me the picture looks like it came out of some cheesy video game. Perhaps the "midwest module" for Grand Theft Auto.
it doesn't look real. Yes, I recognize the skyline but the perspective is odd. Too low to be shot from a helicopter but too high to be shot from a roof. Also the cars look like matchboxes.
from the Hollywood perspective it's prolly easier to just to grab a stock image of downtown Indy and autogenerate some sort virtual suburban reality. Why pay someone to drive out here set up equipment and make a real shot when you can fake it.
my two cynical cents worth...

OK, we watched the show 'Closer to Home' last night (seems like we watch every other law show on TV anyway, so what's one more?). The show planted a lot of seeds. We get to see conflict between Finnigan's character and her husband, conflict between her career and her role as a mother, and the more upfront conflict between the prosecutor and the prosecuted. In the end, it seemed like they scraped across a lot of ground but failed to dig very deep. This left the show somewhat uncompelling. Maybe not a total flop, but the next episode will really need to be more interesting on some level for us to keep watching it.

After three episodes, my very favorite part is that whenever they are ready to go to a courtroom scene, they show the outside of the STATEHOUSE. Hee. That's not where the courts are, people. And the courtrooms they show are huge, palatial rooms with tons of light. The real courts in Indianapolis are in the City-County building (which they do show when they show off the prosecutors offices) and the rooms are small, dark and non-descript. I love the time-lapse video shots of the circle at night, though. That's really pretty.
