Some years ago while looking for something to read on the plane ... I bought a collection of short stories by Annie Proulx "Close Range - Wyoming Stories." Brokeback Mountain was included in the collection. The stories were extremely well written ... and in true Steinbeck tradition ... some of the most depressing stories I've ever read.

I'd like to read these stories sometime. I loved Proulx's "Shipping News" which was also sad.
Check this site later today for a Brokeback Mountain movie review...

When I was in there a few days ago, I noticed that Outword Bound Bookstore downtown has copies of "Close Range - Wyoming Stories"
